Susan Schuchert

Susan Schuchert’s love of theater began with memorizing every role in both Wizard of Oz and Peter Pan, as a child in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Her first real musical theater experience was with Bye Bye Birdie, which remains her favorite to this day. After short lived careers in Journalism (UC Berkeley) and Law (Pepperdine School of Law), Susan returned to performing arts and has dedicated herself to ensuring that all children have an opportunity to experience the magic of the stage. She has directed and choreographed hundreds of productions for youth in the schools and community, as well as written over 20 plays. She was recently invited to the Disney/ASCAP Workshop for Musical Theater, based on her script “The Strand, A Beach Musical” and supported by numerous community sponsors to direct this local history at the Redondo Beach Performing Arts Center in August 2011 and Norris Center for Performing Arts in 2012.
