Beginner Shibori
In this intro class will focus on creating the indigo vat using NATURAL INDIGO, while talking about cultural significance around the world and the history of the process. 5 categories of traditional Japanese dyeing techniques will be shown including Kanoko, Itajime, Miura, and Arashi, along with other "tie dye" methods you will find in Africa and India. Pick the few you're drawn to and have fun! Each student will get to dye minimally 3 pieces.
