Hello there! Any basics on sourdough? I have been baking bread for the last 35 years but only started on sourdough recently and love to “learn how to master” it!

Hi Carmen! This class does not touch on sourdough basics. The instructor is happy to answer questions regarding sourdough at the end of the class program which some guests do ask while they are there as long as it’s at the end of the program. Thanks.

It was very hands on experience. I really liked our session. I learned quite a lot about bread making process and we got to take the bounty at the end of the class as well. Overall, it was a very good experience.

Excellent bread staples workshop. We did baguettes, épis, "batards" which are whole wheat breads with fruits and nuts, and brought home dough to finish cooking at home. (we also brought back tons of baked bread too - have a bread-heavy dinner party that night!) The chef had lots of useful tips and there was not one question we had that she could not answer. I definitely feel I have the tools to make bread at home without a bread machine or using complicated ingredients (the course uses instant yeast). My only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is that Chef Dawn was a little robotic and repetitive. She kept hammering the same words over and over again as if we were undisciplined children. You could tell she prefers this method of teaching after doing this for a while, and it's not coming from a mean place at all, but it does get annoying. However, it takes little away from the experience, so I highly recommend!

The instructor really cared about everyone’s learning. She was methodical and knowledgable. Overall, the class was a lot of fun. We got to bring back a lot of bread back home as well. Would love to enroll into a cake baking and decorating class taught by her.
