Kenny Noth

Teaches at 92nd Street Y

Kenny Noth comes from a family of dance instructors and attributes his ability to his mother’s dance studio where he began dancing at the age of four. Although he has been trained in many styles of dance, he has always held the highest regard, passion, and enthusiasm for tap! Over the years Kenny has received tap training from Jo Noth, Charles Goddertz, Germaine Salsberg, Debbie Dee, and Lane Napper. Besides his trainers, he has been influenced by Gene Kelly, Fred Astaire, The Nicholas Brothers, and Gregory Hines. One of Kenny's greatest achievements was winning "Male Dancer of the Year" (Dance Olympus) with an a cappella tap piece that he co-choreographed with his mother. Favorite performances include OKLAHOMA!, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, and an exchange performance tour in Russia and Denmark. He is a pround member of AEA. Besides teaching at the 92nd Street Y Harkness Dance Center, Kenny also teaches at Steps on Broadway. He has a number of private students that have appeared on Broadway in shows such as Dr. Seuss' How The Grinch Stole Christmas and Gypsy (Patti LuPone). In addition, he has choreographed for The American Belles. Using Broadway-style tap, his class emphasizes a solid technique that sets the base for a successful and fun climb to a more advanced level. The class starts with a technique warm-up, progresses with fun exercises and combinations across the floor, and finishes with a fun, yet challenging, combination.
