Description

What you'll learn in this chocolate making class:

A class for chocolate lovers of all ages! Make a variety of heat wave friendly no bake treats, including a homemade, classed-up take on a peanut butter cup with allergy-friendly options. Dip ripe, sweet strawberries in chocolate and discuss the best ways to keep them fresh. Finally, you’ll get scrappy, whipping up creative variations of chocolate bark with random ingredients you probably already have, and scraping up the last bit of melted chocolate.

Class menu includes:

  • Almond Cookie Butter and Jam Cups in a Dark Chocolate Shell
  • Sweet, Salty and Tangy Chocolate Bark
  • Hand-Dipped Chocolate Strawberries

This is a virtual hands-on class. There is very minimal prep required for this class.

Ingredients you'll need:

  1. 3 c. (18 oz.) 60-70% cacao dark chocolate chips, disks, or small chunks
  2. 5 ½ tsp. coconut oil, divided
  3. ½ c. + 2 Tbsp. finely crushed biscuit crumbs
  4. ½ c. creamy almond butter (or any other nut butter)
  5. ¼ c. jam (any flavor, but strawberry or raspberry pair well with chocolate)
  6. 2-3 cups fresh strawberries, washed and patted dry, then air dried
  7. ½ c. mixed dried fruit slices, such as pineapple, mango, peaches, apricots, apple, large coconut flakes (optional)
  8. ½ c. nuts or seeds
  9. Fine sea salt
  10. 2 teaspoons flaky sea salt, candy pieces, whole or ground spices, sprinkles, nonpareils, nibs, crispy rice cereal, crushed pretzel bits, potato chips, pop rocks, or toasted quinoa (suggested ingredients for Chocolate Bark and Almond Cookie Butter and Jam Cups)

Equipment you'll need:

  1. Food processor or small blender with removable blade
  2. Knife
  3. Cutting board
  4. Mixing bowls
  5. Measuring cups
  6. Measuring spoons
  7. Whisk or fork
  8. Double boiler or medium pot + heat proof glass or metal bowl
  9. 13x9 sheet pan
  10. Silicone muffin cups, or muffin tin + non-stick muffin cup liners
  11. Rubber spatula or offset spatula
  12. Spoons
  13. Parchment paper
  14. Freezer and refrigerator space

Please note: Prep will be required prior to class time. Instructions will be provided 48 hours in advance. In order to follow along with the instructor, please ensure you have the ingredients and equipment ready.

Remote Learning

This course is available for "remote" learning and will be available to anyone with access to an internet device with a microphone (this includes most models of computers, tablets). Classes will take place with a "Live" instructor at the date/times listed below.

Upon registration, the instructor will send along additional information about how to log-on and participate in the class.

Refund Policy

For single-session public events or classes or single days within multi-day classes:

  • If student cancels 6 business days or more before the class/event start time (or before receiving course materials), student is eligible for a refund (less a 7% processing fee) or a credit (100% of purchase price) towards another class/event.
  • If it is within 6 business days of your scheduled event, you can transfer your class to another individual or receive the recording and materials of virtual classes digitally.
  • No shows cannot be refunded. Cancelling after the cut off, withdrawing, or failing to attend results in forfeiting the full amount of the class or event fee. With approval of teacher, student may send someone else to participate and/or receive materials.
  • Most, but not all, classes are recorded. Please confirm in advance of class if you will be relying on the recording.

The school reserves the right to cancel an event or class due to low enrollment, inclement weather or other circumstances that would make the event or class non-viable. Public class participants will be notified via email and may elect to receive a full refund less a 5% non refundable registration fee, a class credit, or admission to another class, pending availability.

In any event where a customer wants to cancel their enrollment and is eligible for a full refund, a 5% processing fee will be deducted from the refund amount.
