Mr. Looney studied directly with Sanford Meisner. He was one of the few actors accepted into the Master Class taught by Charles Conrad without an audition. A truly wonderful class with incredible teachers. I went to the class run by Julia and she is such a great teacher. She is smart and pays great attention to the details and subtlety’s of great film acting. Peter, who also teaches, would participate as a student with the rest of the class providing a great scenemate who gives a lot to work off of. And full unpredictablity that will test and treat you in any given scene. This class is well structured and filled with people who really want to be there. And that goes in part to Julia and Peter’s veting. If you’re serious about film acting this is the class to attend. All memorized pieces are recorded which can make for a great resource when cutting a demo reel. The space is small and intimate and I mean that in a good way. If you’re part of the class you will get the attention you want to help you grow as an actor. Can’t say enough great things about this course. If you’re considering taking classes, this would be a top recommendation of mine.

Peter and Julia are so effective at bringing out an actor’s natural ability, whether they are new or seasoned. Whatever your strengths are or whatever is unique about you, they will help you discover it and use it to your benefit.

I had to pick one date but I actually have attended many classes. This is a great class that helps with the ability to act in the moment. Before this class I would always find myself thinking in the middle of scenes leading to self consciousness. Now I find myself being"lost" in the moment. It's a wonderful feeling!

I have been working out in various forms of this workshop (NOT a class per se) since the 80's. I found that this workshop keeps the film acting muscles honed during all the lean times we actors experience. If you are a golfer, you know that sessions at the driving range are always needed (even by pro golfers) to keep the body in tune. We are given a 3-5 page scene selected from a library of film scenes to cold read with a partner, each partner is recorded on a DVD for our later review. The following week, we sometimes repeat the scene memorized. We also learn to play each scene with your partner with no preconceived notions of HOW it should be played, but REACT to what you are given by the other actor, within the context of the scene. As an exercise, there is no "true" way to play a scene in a preconceived way. The text is the outline, but the performance should be based on what you get from the other actor for it to be real. A scene can be prepared, but we must allow for the unexpected. That's when the magic happens on camera.

It is an absolute privilege to study under Peter and Julia. The atmosphere is supportive and pushes you to stretch your acting abilities. They are so giving of their talent, experience and wise council. I cannot say enough good things about my growth as an actor with them. I studied there for eight years and continued to love the support and continual learning. I highly recommend their class.
