n this three week online class, big-hearted, straight-shooting casting director Brette Goldstein will cut to the chase and tell you what makes you pop on camera, with a special focus on self-tapes and virtual callbacks.
Brette has cast six television series (HBO, USA, LMN, Lifetime, History Channel, Investigation Discovery), over 50 independent films, 300 commercials, 100 plays, seven pilot presentations (including “Odd Mom Out” for Bravo) and various new media projects, and was the resident casting director at Washington, DC’s Folger Elizabethan Theatre for ten seasons.
Her recent projects include Season 2 of HBO's THE JINX and a movie for HULU.
EVENT OVERVIEW:
Week 1 - you will focus on prepared co-star sides that will get you ready for those self-tapes.
Week 2 - you will do intensive work on polishing prepared sides for leading roles in indie films.
Week 3 - please send your last 3 self-tapes to Brette via her WeTransfer so that she can evaluate patterns that might be standing in the way of booking - These will be watched in class with Brette evaluating your work and self tape set-up.
Brette will cover tricks of the trade for self-tapes and how to stand out in “the room”, especially when it’s a virtual one.
This class is for adults and mature teens (16+).
This course is available for "remote" learning and will be available to anyone with access to an internet device with a microphone (this includes most models of computers, tablets). Classes will take place with a "Live" instructor at the date/times listed below.
Upon registration, the instructor will send along additional information about how to log-on and participate in the class.
