Description

AlterWork Studios was founded by Tina Stipanovic as an open access art and community center. Its mission is to be a major resource for contemporary artists, that helps them create new artwork and advance their careers by offering them access to affordable workspace, tools, classes, workshops and public exposure.

Tina Stipanovic is an artist with an MFA from Parsons School of Design in NYC. She has spent the last 10 years building a community as the owner of RaR Bar, a bar, eatery and DIY arts and music venue adjacent to the studios. She is also an independent curator for the Kaufman Arts District in Astoria and the creator of the District's Backlot Art Festival.

This course was really great! Tina has made it easy for beginners to become comfortable with working on the wheel and for first time clay experience. I've learned a lot and feel comfortable continuing my skills and working with clay. Thank you, Tina, for your patience and teachings!

I loved the knowledge base and the method of teaching of this instructor. She was patient, problem solved with her students for approaches to alterations. I would take the class again in a heartbeat.

I LOVED IT. Tina was great stressing that clay is forgiving - you dont like it, you start over. it was a comfortable, fun, relaxing time with clay. I dont consider myself to be a creative type so I made your basic bowl shapes and then i got brave, pinched a spout and put a handle on it...voila, a creamer. And you know what, i left feeling creative!! I cant wait to pick up the finished pieces and use them at my dinner table !
