In this one-day workshop students will learn the introductory skills of glassblowing, such as: how to take a gather of molten glass out of the furnace and how to work in small teams in the glass studio! While focusing on building these new handskills, students will learn how to make colorful glassware in beginner forms such as paperweights and cups.
What to Expect: Students will work together and learn to manipulate molten glass (2000 degrees). Safety, color application, and tools will all be covered in a fun and exciting environment. The hot shop is a loud studio, and can get quite warm.
Eligibility: No previous experience required. Open to ages 14 and up.
Pick-up: The glass needs to cool down overnight, so the students will have to return to UrbanGlass once notified to pick up their work.
This is an in-person class taking place on-site at UrbanGlass. Health and safety guidelines will be emailed to you upon registration.
