Rachel Jackson

Teaches at The Giving Tree Yoga Studio

Rachel was originally drawn to Yoga while studying musical-theatre at Arizona State University. She struggled with her tight hamstrings in the required ballet classes and hoped Yoga would settle the score. It was over the course of those four years that her practice started to grow and deepen. She's a Phoenix native, but her heart is in LA where she spent eight years pursuing a career in singing and acting before recently moving to NYC. While living on the West Coast, she studied with many inspiring teachers who transformed her practice (Dice Iida-Klein, Briohny Kate Smyth, Stella Valente-Wilkins, Jodie Blumstein, Sarah Ezrin, and her two incredible mentors in teacher training, Joan Hyman and Carmen Fitzgibbon). She received her 200-hour RYT certification through YogaWorks at the Center for Yoga in LA in 2011 and plans to complete her 500-hour certification in the next few years. Her intention is to give students a well-rounded, strong, invigorating, and most importantly safe practice. For Rachel, Yoga has been a source of strength, peace, inspiration and balance which she hopes to share with all of her students. She specializes in rigorous, dynamic, powerful and focused Vinyasa flow classes.
