Beginning Glassblowing

Beginning Glassblowing

Students will learn the basic techniques of gathering, marvering, blocking, and blowing molten glass. This class will emphasize individual instruction and cover the use of traditional hand tools. The use of color will be introduced, but students will primarily work with clear glass. Beginning glassblowing is designed for the glass student with little or no experience.

Discover Glassblowing Workshop

This exciting 1-day workshop will introduce you to the world of glassblowing. Includes demo by the instructors & discussions of studio equipment, techniques, safety & the history of glass. Come with questions. You will then have a chance to experience glassblowing when you create a piece of your own. Wear cotton clothing & closed-toed shoes.
Glassblowing (Intermediate)

Basic Shapes and Color Applications

The emphasis of the basic shapes with color applications class is to familiarize students with different ways to apply color to blown vessels while continuing their emphasis on the basic shapes. Students will practice the cylinder, cone, and reverse cone forms in both clear and with color applications using powders and frits. Stained Glass Suncatcher
