Adrienne Weidert

Teaches at You Should Be Dancing

Cross-pollinating careers as a professional dancer, ballerina and Jitterbug with a modern touch of Cyd Charrise, Adrienne is a National Champion swing dancer specializing in Lindy Hop, Charleston and solo Jazz who has danced and performed on stages and screens coast to coast. This past summer she enjoyed dancing with New York’s largest regional theater, Merry Go Round Playhouse, as a Ziegfeld Follies Girl in the Off-Broadway production of “Will Rogers Follies”, and last summer was her NYC debut with The Public Theater’s production “The Comedy of Errors” during Shakespeare in the Park (NY, NY).

Adrienne has been a featured dancer in film (The Thirteenth Floor) and television as well as music video with the Canadian band, Hollerado, filming their original song “Got To Lose” in affiliation with Jim Henson Studios, Los Angeles, CA. Other music video production work include Big Bad Voo Doo Daddy, and Ric Mysterie.

Adrienne has enjoyed choreographing, dancing and performing onstage at The Greek Theater in Los Angeles and Seattle’s Benaroya Hall, and has toured professionally with Lindy Hop company, Hot Club Stomp, and regionally with The Atomic Cherry Bombs – Los Angeles’ premiere all female chorus girl troupe specializing in Charleston, Vernacular Jazz and Cabaret. In NYC she has performed at Lincoln Center’s Midsummer Night Swing, B.B. Kings Blues Club, Swing 46, the Historic Battleship, Intrepid, At a Pier 84, and other industrial gigs with Lindy Hop All-Stars dance troupe.

Adrienne trained with the Milwaukee Ballet, Boston Ballet and London’s Royal Ballet School, and holds 1st Place National Jitterbug Championship Title, Lindy Hop Showcase Title with the US Open Swing Dance Championship, and International Lindy Hop Championship Titles.

Adrienne Weidert has danced professionally and performed with an all-star cast of leads (nationally and internationally), including Nick Williams, Jeremy Otth, Mikey Pedroza, Shesha Marvin and Adam Brozowski. Adrienne and Shesha (owner of Southern California’s Atomic Ballroom) have been performing together since 1996, earning a US Open Swing Dance Championships title together in 2010. She and Adam Brozowski have been dancing & touring together since 2007 and have been performing and teaching together since 2010. It was through Adam that Adrienne met Rafal Pustelny while helping coach the juniors division at ILHC. Currently the two of them work to capture the elegance and style of a bygone era and bring it to the next generation. Outside of YSBD you can find both Adrienne and Rafal teaching and volunteering with inner city youth programs like Harlem Swings, bringing the joy of Lindy Hop back to it roots and encouraging young dancers.
